Virginia Commonwealth University – Sanger Hall
Sanger Hall, part of VCU’s School of Medicine is transitioning from an office and classroom space to a lab-focused building. The new layout and identity for the public and department work areas should project a holistic, progressive environment for prospect faculty, students and staff. Project goals include creating more inviting technology rich amenities, unique workstation solutions and efficient work flow for students and staff. The new office space needs to be flexible to accommodate both current and future departments as well as include amenites that are accessible to both faculty and students.
Sanger Hall has a strong architectural history and with VCU School of Medicine’s commitment and depth of resources in research and technological innovation. The proposed design concept will provide efficient and creative work space. The shape is intended to inspire staff and attract new faculty and student prospects. The open lobby and corridor nooks provide retreat spaces for break and peer collaboration between class.
